FIFTY SHADES OF BLACK & WHITE

There is always a certain allure of black and white photos that defy colour trends and predictions of what Pantone declared the colour of the year was. Yesterday, and arguably two years before that, I was suppose to have a photo shoot with my good friend. We had this amazing concept of long, fluid dresses against a backdrop of the romantic sunset - an exotic mixture of deep orange and bright yellow. An unparalleled concept that rivals that of an amateur layout artist we often see in photography websites, that of mine and my good friend's remains (until now) - guess what, yes - still a concept. (Insert sad face emoticon here.)

So I had all the afternoon by myself, looking in front of the mirror and into my closet. I had all the clothes laid out on the bed with the glitzy accessories to match; but since we didn't end up going to the venue to take the supposedly amazing photos, I took the liberty to take mine in front of the mirror using my ever-reliable iPhone (how can I ever live without you, Siri?).

A totally made-up bare face (yes, that's possible) and disheveled hair, I stood there in front of the full-length mirror and wearing nothing but a singlet and undies, I took my photos with the old American Apparel campaign in mind and these are what it turned out to be. They're not the best but I kinda like them - sexy but not slutty type of photos always win in my book.

Speaking of self-photography, I think I just found my new photographer-friend who knows how to professionally edit fashion videos too. I consider myself lucky!
