INSTAGRAM

If too much social activity is a crime, then I declare myself guilty. Living in a city where everyone is glued on in their smartphones and working in an industry where it is deemed archaic should you not have at least one social media account, I am overtly exposed to the sin of committing too much social activity.

I, for once, was just an avid fan of Facebook in which, at that time, was my other medium for online shopping (do you remember the time when your Facebook friends used to sell Mac lipsticks, Longchamp bags and Ralph Lauren scents?). Deemed as a way to kill time not too long ago, social media has grown beautifully into a way of life - and brand managers are definitely on the run on how to effectively utilize this free and popular medium.

My love affair with social media started when I was in my early 20s. I, as embarrassed as I am now, then used Facebook to share the world how I feel - whether it is because I was so pissed off at a customer service operator or because I was just heartbroken. Now, I've gone mature enough not to broadcast to the entire digital universe about how my day was in all its gruesome details or how I feel regardless if I am happy or sad. Being a PR professional, I limit my social posts to promoting the brands I handle, letting the world know about my recent purchases (you can roll your eyes here. I know, I can't help it), or what I had for breakfast (I'm Asian; posting what my plate looked like before I hastily eat whatever is on it is an absolute part of the culture. Ha!).

Instagram has been by far my favourite among the three social media networks in which I am very active at the moment. I am using the medium for over a year now and as I write this post, I am on my 2,075th photo (I deleted images close to 100 cause I just think they're inappropriate. Haha!) with over 1600 followers (thank you so much!!) and following 110 beautiful people. You may check out (and while you're at it, follow me too) my account at @annnereyes and I promise to entertain you using my own (or reposted) photos and videos. I am on Twitter too under the username @AnnneReyes and yes, I am as much as hooked to Twitter as I am on Instagram. Posted over 15,000 tweets in over three years varying from shared contents from various websites to my daily musings on random stuff.

Keep up!
