Crop tops and bralets are huge trends in the 90s. This is what seemed to be a reason for an obsession to slave in the gym for hours to achieve that covetable flat stomach (or better yet that four-to-six-pack abs if you've been slaving enough) and in turn, be able to wear those crop tops a la Mel C of Spice Girls.
Fast forward to today and we see a round of crop tops and bralets worn by our favourite fashion darlings from Oscar PR Girl to Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl. History repeats itself indeed, even in the world of fashion. For a lady who lives in a tropical city as humid as Singapore and works in an office as cold as the North Pole at the same time, it is just as practical to wear light breezy clothing and stash in a separate jacket to keep the chills at bay.
Today, my definition of light breezy clothing is the ever-reliable and ever-stylish crop top (which I cut myself, by the way) paired with soft trousers. You see, I'm not really that into pants; when I go shopping, I opt to buy dresses and skirts but when I laid my eyes on this bright blue beauty, I was more than convinced that it just has to find its way into my closet. This bright green top that I found from a bazaar looks pretty when paired with the trousers and no amount of flats can give justice to the look; heels is the definite accessory which serves as the exclamation point in this outfit. It ups the ante if you've found the perfect black pointy pumps to go with it.
My Oblivion is peeking through.
