January marks an astounding start of yet another most awaited moment for the craziest of fashion followers. Yes, I am talking about January covers of established fashion magazines around the globe.
I began admiring fashion magazines when I started attending high school. As I flip through pages, my heart skips a beat looking at those perfectly-photoshopped images of supermodels donning that fabulous Gucci frock in all their smokey-eyes-messy-hair, air-brushed long-legged perfection. Since then, I never stopped anticipating the start of another month and read another bunch of fashion magazines that will transpire month-long inspirations.
I not only admire the fashion spreads and read the articles page by page, I also look out for ad campaigns of international fashion labels. Oh how I loved staring at Gisele Bundchen for hours when she posed for Louis Vuitton S/S 2006 campaign. And just like that, I started to embrace my natural tanned skin, full lips and wavy hair in a jiffy. I painted my nails with bright fuchsia pink hue and tried on the brightest of red lip colour that I can find on the shelves of Rustan's department store. Right then and there, I knew I wanted to work in the PR and advertising industry. If I can't be the one in front of the camera, I have to be at least the one behind it developing concepts, writing editorial articles, scouting for models and scouring the shops for the perfect ensemble to go with a certain campaign.
Talking about fashion magazines, here is a roundup of covers for January 2014. Which one is your favourite?
And about that fuchsia pink nail colour, I need to hurry and go get a mani-pedi.
