This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 22!
Day 22, 2:00 PM, Fort Canning Park Singapore
It's a Sunday, another ordinary day for most locals and expats and another exciting day to experience the city for tourists. The sun is shining at it's strongest; it's a fantastic day for shooting. About twenty minutes past two in the afternoon with zero photo taken yet and I'm sweating and feeling tired with all those steps and from carrying two big bags full of maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and more dresses - all for the glory of shooting photos in a beautiful landscape. The view got the best of me; it's the perfect venue to shoot beautiful and flowy maxi dresses. We are joined by groups of professional models and photographers - one with a wedding concept and one with about five European female models all decked out in long glitzy dresses that reminded me of JS Prom.
As a typical petite Asian, I find ways to give the illusion of being tall. That explains the obsession with shoes with 5-inch heels - that, skin-tight jeans and long clothes whether it's a jumpsuit or maxi dress. The key is to make sure your feet are covered up with the garment as it will add inches to your height (I actually don't care if all these are just optical illusion. I feel good when I look tall. Ha!)
I am wearing the Lover dress in these photos. It's from a resort wear designer and multi-label boutique Simone Irani. She stocks up on resort wear and accessories - from tunics to swimsuits, from maxi dresses to jumpsuits, from flats to glass bead necklaces. Her boutique is located at Cluny Court, # 02-17, 501, Bukit Timah Rd, Singapore.
I've worn the Lover dress to the Day 2 of the Singapore Yacht Show. It's a versatile piece - you can wear it to a weekend brunch with the family, after-work cocktails with the ladies and if you work in fashion, feel free to wear it at work too. It looks amazing with flats, wedges and stilettos. Go crazy with accessories and spoil the maximalist in you or wear fine jewellery to mimic a minimalist chic look.
We shoot for about two and a half hours and produced fantastic photos. Thanks to my friend who took the time to patiently photograph me and helped me carry the pretty heavy bags with clothes inside.
