Have you ever wondered how's it like to be in a chocolate factory (just like Charlie?)? Yes? Now, imagine it in real life - with larger-than-life masterpieces fashioned out of chocolate, pastry, meringue and other sugar elements. Still sounds like a dream, isn't it? How about melted chocolate flowing down like waterfall cascading into a melted chocolate lake with life-sized giraffes and elephants made of chocolate grazing in a beautiful landscape surrounded with trees with real mint chocolate leaves? Now, this doesn't sound real, does it? Well, yes, this has been a dream until two master pastry chefs decided to make this dream come to life. Welcome to Fantasìa!
Fantasìa is a concept that is conceived in Barcelona, Spain and will have its worldwide premiere in Singapore. This is a first-of-its-kind event in the world. World-renowned Spanish pastry chef Christian Escribà and his Brazilian wife Patricia Schmidt once had a dream - to create a wonderland made of chocolate and pastry where everyone (from kids to adults, from sugar-lovers to those with special dietary requirements) will enjoy. Come June 2014, this dream will come true and they chose Singapore to be the host of this one-of-a-kind event.
The Fantasìa press conference was held last Thursday, 13 February 2014. I am so proud to be a part of the team behind it since the event was a huge success! A great turnout of media attendees, the team secured a good number of interviews, guests had fun during the event, and we secured a fantastic number of media coverage.
The power pastry couple flew in to Singapore from Barcelona to be at the press conference to attend to the media inquiries. The highlight of the event was when Chefs Christian and Patricia created the mini version of the Fantasìa landscape in 45 minutes! Being addicted to chocolates, I am in awe upon seeing the chocolate treats prepared by the Escriba chefs after the press con. There were a wide array of chocolate treats served - from chocolate lips to chocolate with real mint leaves. Everything tastes sooooo good!
