Today's the last day of April and tomorrow, we will be facing a new month again. New month, new start. This is my mantra when I start a new something - whether it's a new day or new job, anything. Everyday, I am thankful that I'm still alive the moment I wake up 'cause that means God is still giving me another chance to live and make my dreams come true. I am thankful for April although this month has been not too lucky career-wise but it doesn't mean that it's the end of the world. An ending gives way to a new beginning and I'm thankful for every little thing that I experience each and every day.

Playing dress up was a fun activity when I was a kid. I was never the athletic type of little girl who would ride the bicycle or ask her parents to buy her a pair of rollerblades and go crazy on the village street with wheels beneath her feet. I was always the prim and proper little girl who likes to play with Barbie, huge doll houses, pots and pans and pretend to cook a sumptuous meal for the entire family. And yes, dressing up was a requisite activity of my sister, cousins and I when we were kids.

Wednesday nights are dubbed as ladies night, where ladies are being treated to a couple of free drinks. This has been a common practice in the clubbing scene, until the geniuses behind Club kyō collaborated with the fabulous Australian high fashion online retailer THEWYLDSHOP to give these ladies a ladies night experience that's apart from what the other clubs, lounges and bars have to offer. It's a Sunday, another ordinary day for most locals and expats and another exciting day to experience the city for tourists. The sun is shining at it's strongest; it's a fantastic day for shooting.  About twenty minutes past two in the afternoon with zero photo taken yet and I'm sweating and feeling tired with all those steps and from carrying two big bags full of maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and more dresses - all for the glory of shooting photos in a beautiful landscape. The view got the best of me; it's the perfect venue to shoot beautiful and flowy maxi dresses. We are joined by groups of professional models and photographers - one with a wedding concept and one with about five European female models all decked out in long glitzy dresses that reminded me of JS Prom.

Singapore has been my home for over two years now and it's just not too easy to say goodbye. People come and go; they say it's hard to build lasting and meaningful relationships in this beautiful busy city due to this fact. I met people who became a huge part of my life in these two amazing years - people who touched my heart and somehow contributed to who I am now. I also met some who just came and passed by. And now, with all the sadness I feel in the deepest part of my heart, I need to say goodbye to you again Singapore, and I hope - I really do - that I will see you again soon, sooner than I think I will.

Instagram has been my photo diary for the past two years now and whenever I look at my account's filtered images, it acts like a reminder of what took part at any given time. The previous week has been so busy for me with regards to the blog since it was a week full of meetings with designers and shop owners for possible collaboration with the blog and the series of social events at the Singapore Yacht Show.

This is the second time I went to the Singapore Yacht Show, and this time is special since I went there to see the White Moon fashion show. White Moon showcased their Rebirth Collection and the latest collection aptly named as Summer Pea. All models were dressed in white long dresses with a mask on just to give the highlight to the clutch bags. Stunning pieces of handmade bejewelled clutch bags were showcased in the runway, giving the Singapore Yacht Show a fashionable afternoon treat.

Asia’s largest yachting, boating and luxury lifestyle event, The Singapore Yacht Show, was officially opened by Minister Iswaran on Thursday afternoon at ONE°15 Marina Club. My weekend started with Day 2 of the luxurious Singapore Yacht Show where I attended with my girl friends.

Last Thursday, 10 April 2014, was the official opening of Asia's largest, yachting, boating 

and luxury lifestyle event, The Singapore Yacht Show. Now in its fourth year, the event presents Asia’s largest exhibition of boats and superyachts, as well as supercars, classic cars, fashion, fine art and live entertainment. I had the privilege to cover the Singapore Yacht Show for The PR Girl Closet yesterday and boy, was it amazing! I came with my two girl friends and together, we scanned through decks of superyachts and international yachts. It was my first time to attend such event and it's interesting to know and discover luxury yacht and international yacht brands in such a high luxury setting.

The previous week has been very exciting for The PR Girl Closet. I decided to contact more designers and shop owners for possible collaborations with my blog and I have been successful in getting some. As we speak, I am thrilled to announce that we will have more blog posts that are dedicated to specific designers and shops in Singapore. It has been a fun and exciting week indeed! And with the launch of #100DAYSOFSUMMER project, I am always excited to wake up each day and write something new in the blog. Blogging has always been in my list of to-do's every year and this year, it came true and I am really taking the time to write something new every day to keep the blog fresh and updated. I want to thank my readers for your support and admiration for the blog. I even have male friends who admire what I write even though they're not really into fashion. Every week, I collate all the photos I posted on Instagram and dedicate one blog post just for these filtered photographs. This is what my Instagram feed looked like last week. Enjoy!

#100DAYSOFSUMMER - DAY 6: LOCAL LABELS EXHIBIT @ ORCHARD CENTRAL

Admiring fabulous international designer collections is one thing but there's always something special and unique about the local labels. For one, they have this unique way of crafting the pieces - some are lovingly handmade, some are made of indigenous materials which I find fascinating - and the designs are just beautiful! When I was in the Philippines, I've always been on the lookout for new and upcoming local fashion designer simply because I like seeing the local fashion scene grow and support new and amazing local labels. There's so much potential in a city where creativity just blooms. In Singapore, the local fashion scene just keeps on emerging with the introduction to new designers and events that help these new designers promote their label. One effort of supporting the local fashion designers is the Local Labels Exhibit @ Orchard Central.

I am dedicated to read more this year; that's one of the things I would like to do more. In the beginning of 2014, I downloaded several news applications for everyday reading. As of press time, I have 10 news apps in my iPhone which I read everyday. LinkedIn Pulse, Flipboard, PR Newswire and Zite are my favourites. I have this tendency to do everything digitally since I literally live in my iPhone. Everything is there so if it's lost, I am totally screwed. Being an obsessed follower of fashion, reading fashion news in websites and blogs is a part of my reading ritual but there's just something special about flipping through a page of a new magazine (or book). The smell of the pages is kind of nostalgic. It takes me back to high school days where I read everything on paper, no digital device to keep me occupied all the time.

Summer nights in a tropical country is really hot so us Asians are always on light clothing at this time of the year. Not that we have four seasons which will allow us to wear cashmere, faux fur jackets and sophisticated trench coats (which is kind of sad), but April and May are the hottest months of the year in this part of the globe.

Friends. How can anyone possibly live without friends? I am lucky to have friends who are very supportive about what I do. They are the ones who take my photos for my blog. Without them, it won't be possible for me to create this blog and update it as much as I would like to. When you live in a city away home, friends will act as your family. Mine do such a great job. They're here whenever I need advice or if my head is somewhat lost in all directions.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER - DAY 1

Happy 1st day of April! I am so thrilled to start this project today. It's called #100DaysOfSummer. I decided to put hashtag in the beginning for me to monitor the posts easily and quickly (and aside from the fact that I'm just used to using hashtags in practically everything). This project is all about - yep you guessed it - SUMMER! I know I live in a tropical country and it's obviously summer almost all year long but there's something exciting about hearing the months April, May and June coming. Aside from the fact that these are the warmest times of the year in this part of the globe, there are also quite a lot of non-working holidays in these months (in Singapore and the Philippines, at least). This is particularly an exciting time for The PR Girl Closet because of two main reasons.
