START

Well first of all, I wanna greet everyone belated happy new year!

New (adj.) - introduced or discovered recently or now for the first time.
Resolutions (n) - a firm decision to do or not to do something

22 days past NYE of complete silence, without any posts or whatsoever, that I swear would not happen. 22 days past NYE and here I am breaking my resolutions already (already?!!). We always have this idea of a fresh start when a new year begins and with that comes a set of ambitious resolutions (which we will be probably successful at for the first, what, couple of months or weeks. Who are we kidding right?).

BEDAZZLED

Before anything else, I would like to wish everyone happy holidays!

As I write this, I am about to turn a year older (insert shocked-face-gasping-for-air emoticon here) tomorrow. God, time does fly so fast, doesn’t it? About a good couple of months ago, I was thinking of where I was 10 years ago when I was about to turn 19 (you do the math) and I must admit, I am very happy with where I am now. 10 years ago, I wasn’t sure of what I want to do and who I want to be but now I have a very good grasp of what I want to become (and am in the process of working on the life goals already). I believe the older wise women now when they say back then that the best years are yet to come. And there I was thinking that pulling up an all-nighter at a hip club with your girlfriends is the best time of your life. Haha!

BASIC

Admiration of the feminine curves has always been my motivation to keep on wearing dresses and skirts that highlight my natural curves (or lack thereof ha!). I’ve been eternally obsessed with dresses that skim through my frame smoothly. On some relaxed days though, I tend to draw in to skinny jeans that spell effortless chic.

SERIOUS

Chic corporate dressing is something that I’ve always liked to achieve on a daily basis. Having to work on a semi-relaxed corporate setting, I have the freedom to wear anything I want, as long as it’s not vulgar and it still looks serious. My job requires me to be on meetings several times a week – some are not scheduled ahead of time – so I have to make sure that I look professional at all times, but that didn’t restrict me from incorporating my own style into my every day work look.

BORACAY PHOTO DIARY

It has been ages since I wrote a blog post. Things have been busy at finding a job, getting one, moving to Makati, finding a new apartment and getting more and more busy at work. I missed writing though. Oh and the good news is I've found a photographer whom I can work with for my blog (and so I can share DSLR-camera-taken photographs and not just the ones I painstakingly took at my iPhone camera). We will start taking real photos next weekend so it's gonna be great! I'm so excited! I am thinking of getting someone to develop a website for me so it will look more professional, streamlined and user-friendly.

MINIMALIST

I've always been an advocate of minimalist dressing. I adore dresses with clean lines and silhouettes, tops with no prints and in serious plain colours of either black, white, royal blue, deep red, emerald green or the requisite nudes like beige, off white and ecru. When it comes to accessories, I also tend to go to the minimalist route. Sure there were times when I feel like stacking huge bangles that resemble too heavy and chunky for my skinny wrists but these bangles come in the boldest plain colours with no prints or texture whatsoever. I have an eternal rule for shoes - they should be plain, at least 4 inches in height, and as much as possible, come in pointed toes (no open, rounded or square toe box for me as these tend to make my feet look fat). I have a long and lasting fashion love affair with minimalist dressing. Lately, I've been obsessing over thin necklaces in the daintiest designs ever.

AN AFTERNOON WITH CUPCAKES

Living in the South has its ups and downs. The nicest advantage is that we don't have to deal with the unbelievably annoying traffic in the metro and obviously, the air is cleaner in this side. SLEX is friendlier to motorists most of the time, unlike EDSA who likes to annoy its everyday commuters. The disadvantage is that we don't have a lot of options for shopping and dining. The friendly Alabang Town Center is - thank God - a half an hour drive (or less on non-rush hours) away from Laguna. One afternoon my college friend Ronet and I went there to have a sweet slice (or two) of cupcakes, a cup of coffee, do a little bit of shopping and loads of catching up.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 100 - 100th

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 100!

Day 100, 12:00 NN, Philippines

I can't believe we are on the 100th day already! It has been a little over three months and we're done with the #100DaysOfSummer project. I'm happy to share with you some of the highlights in the past 100 days. This wouldn't be possible without the help of some brands and people who are happy to share materials that I can use in order to make this series possible.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 96 - BONBERI

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 96!

Day 96, 10:00 AM, Philippines

As I was browsing on Google for interesting health articles to read, I found myself on The Coveteur website. This is one of my go-to websites when I want to see beautiful things for style inspiration and to peep on my favourite supermodels' (and people in the fashion industry in general) closets. I haven't visited the website for quite some time now so I was pleasantly surprised that they've ran stories on health and wellness too. I am working on some health articles for a website so this is perfect.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 95 - HIGH SCHOOL

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 95!

Day 95, 10:00 AM, Philippines

High school... That was like 12 years ago! God time flies sooo fast! Did I mention that in my last post? Well you'll never know you're getting old until you don't feel like partying all night long anymore, you feel groggy and tired after, what, two drinks (haha!), your idea of a fun night is an intimate dinner with friends with you talking without having to shout and dance at the same time (flashback Republiq nights), and your preference of practically everything changes - from your taste in music to your fashion sense.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 74 - ASOS BIKINI MIXER

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 74!

Day 74, 10:00 AM, Philippines

Bikinis are one of the most fabulous (and easy to wear) clothing pieces ever invented. Just like high heels, I am a huge fan of swimsuits in various cuts, shapes, prints, and colours. So can I just say that I am absolutely THRILLED to receive an email from ASOS marketing team asking me to review their latest collections of swimsuit separates that you can mix and match??!!! Well feeling really excited about it isn't just the only thing I felt when I got the email, I feel proud to be chosen as one of the international bloggers they approached to write a review about the latest collection. Naturally, I said YES YES YES! I am more than happy to run a review about it. Living in the tropics allows us ladies to wear bikinis all year round. And with the number of resorts and beautiful beaches near Manila, there is absolutely no reason for us not to go on a short trip and have that beach rendezvous we all deserve. The only problem we should be having is what to pack. I'm a huge fan of packing lightly for a short trip. Since my clothes are light and come in small pieces, I always make it a point to bring items with me that I can mix and match and go perfect for both day and night.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 73 - RIBBON AND ROSES

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 73!

Day 73, 10:00 AM, Philippines

I'm thrilled to introduce to you another online shop I recently discovered. For all you resort-wear-loving ladies out there, you'll definitely love love love this Singapore-based online shop. It's called Ribbon and Roses. Sounds pretty and girly, doesn't it? Ribbon and Roses is the brainchild of Marina Milburn that offers women's clothing and jewellery pieces with an East-meets-West feel. After a decade of working in the fashion industry and an extensive knowledge of how fashion works in Asia due to her travels, Marina saw a fabulous opportunity to create pieces that will cater to both Eastern and Western taste.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 60 - CLOSET SWAP

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 60!

Day 60, 12:00 NN, Philippines

Isn't it fantastic to live in a tropical country? You can pretty much wear the lightest, most sheer and shortest of outfits. For women my age (I'm already 28 now by the way), we tend to keep everything classy even though our bodies are not that covered up. But when we're at the beach, that's a different story. Back in the city, when I wear the shortest of denim cut-offs, I'll make sure I have my shoulders all covered up. It's just a matter of balancing everything - make sure that you reveal just one body part at a time, don't reveal everything in one go unless you want to get uncomfortable stares from strangers in the streets.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 55 - PUERTO GALERA PHOTO DIARY

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 54!

Day 55, 1:00 PM, Aninuan Beach Puerto Galera

First, I'd like to say sorry to my readers for being on a short (okay that's pretty long) hiatus on blogging for The PR Girl Closet. I've been busy with attending interviews and now that I have a freelance stint, I think I would probably be even more busy than I ever was these past few days. I'm so thrilled to share with you though the snapshots I took on our recent trip to Puerto Galera last week for four days. Describing those four days as amazing is the least I can do. Puerto Galera is gorgeous! Its crystal clear water makes even the most scared hydrophobic like myself turn into a convert and not wanting to get off of the water. The mountains that are lined up along with the coconut trees on the shore make for beautiful postcard-worthy photographs.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 31 - MAY INSPIRATIONS

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 31!

Day 31, 9:00 PM, Laguna, Philippines

Goodbye April and hello May! As the 2nd month of the 2nd quarter of the year starts, I stared down the laptop, closed LinkedIn and Gmail tabs and opened a new one where I typed May Inspirations. Then I found myself browsing through the 1st Google page result for less than a minute. I finally clicked on a link that forwarded me to Pinterest and right there, the pins of beaches, couples kissing, women in heavy makeup and healthy recipes looked back at me. I scrolled down and further down but none of these images really caught my attention until I decided to think of typing down each and every single item that serves as my inspirations for the month of May. And then it all boils down to this...

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 30 - APRIL

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 30!

Day 30, 5:00 PM, Laguna, Philippines

Today's the last day of April and tomorrow, we will be facing a new month again. New month, new start. This is my mantra when I start a new something - whether it's a new day or new job, anything. Everyday, I am thankful that I'm still alive the moment I wake up 'cause that means God is still giving me another chance to live and make my dreams come true. I am thankful for April although this month has been not too lucky career-wise but it doesn't mean that it's the end of the world. An ending gives way to a new beginning and I'm thankful for every little thing that I experience each and every day.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 28 - INSTAGRAM DIARY

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 28!

Day 28, 9:00 AM, Laguna, Philippines

Since I came back to my hometown, my days primarily consist of being in front of the laptop typing away like a mad person and updating my blog (I've been good at updating it regularly so far), looking for the perfect PR job online and trying to reunite with good old friends by talking to them on various social media platforms. I didn't do anything new this week except to play lasertag and Guitar Hero (which doesn't sound very exciting but it is indeed super fun!) for the first time.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 27 - FASHION BLOGGER

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 27!

Day 27, 5:00 PM, Laguna, Philippines

Writing is the writer's way to express his/her emotions the same way as what songs are to singers. I started my first fashion blog when I was in my mid-20s mainly because I wanted to be a fashion editor and due to my background (graduated with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Communication Arts with zero experience in editorial, save for those years when I was a Feature Editor of the high school newspaper but that didn't count), I ended up working in PR (which I realized, later on, that it's what I really want to do). But I didn't wanna give up on the dream of writing about fashion trends, insights about the industry and things in between, hence the birth of my first fashion blog.

#100DAYSOFSUMMER: DAY 25 - COCOON

This is a part of the #100DaysOfSummer project of The PR Girl Closet, and we are now on Day 25!

Day 25, 2:00 PM, Fort Canning Park Singapore

Playing dress up was a fun activity when I was a kid. I was never the athletic type of little girl who would ride the bicycle or ask her parents to buy her a pair of rollerblades and go crazy on the village street with wheels beneath her feet. I was always the prim and proper little girl who likes to play with Barbie, huge doll houses, pots and pans and pretend to cook a sumptuous meal for the entire family. And yes, dressing up was a requisite activity of my sister, cousins and I when we were kids.
